Our second day here we went to Glen Watkins State Park. We have seen so many beautiful places on our travels but because the sights are so different it’s hard to say what is the most beautiful. But this place ranks way up there. It’s hard to pick just a few pictures and they don’t really do it justice. It was over 800 steps to the top but so worth it!

And the trail down went by a beautiful old cemetery.

And finally, Woodstock for Seniors
One of the things about a trip like this is the luxury of changing your plans. John saw a sign along the road advertising a bluegrass festival called Pickin in the Pasture. Literally camped in a pasture. It was a lot like I imagine Woodstock to be.

Camping. Ok, at Woodstock it was tents. Seniors “camp” in RVs.

“Sleeping” around. Ok, they were just sleeping.

And a few other things in common with Woodstock. Smokin stuff: Ribs. Lots of drugs: For high blood pressure, colesterol, etc. Seriously, there was great bluegrass and gospel music. It was fun!
And something that makes one go, “hmmm?” This rv next to us is owned by the US Government and says right on the license plate “for official use only”. Well, it is a Fun Finder. Left over from the Clinton administration?

  1. We went to Watkins Glen many, many eons ago (Rachel was a baby!) and remember how much we loved it… SO beautiful! This is a great post, Dianne… you’re such a comedian!

  2. enjoyed the pictures of Watkins Glen (sorry, not Glen Watkins!), did you see the world famous race track with the same name?

  3. Wow those are some crazy pics that I would not associate with NY! And I gotta hand it to you Diane- a very clever post with the Woodstock references LOL! Thanks for sharing!
