Spent the last two days in New Orleans. What an interesting city it is. There are some depressing things about it (voodoo stuff and some major partying) but it’s unique, beautiful, historic, and has amazing music and delicious food. We loved it.
And here’s one last pic. Unlike California, Louisiana must be a strong believer in personal responsibility. This is a very typical sidewalk. Walk at your own risk. No fence to keep you from falling into the Mississippi. At flood stage, which it is now, it’s moving very fast so better watch your step. And It’s up to you to watch out for streetcars crossing your path. I think I like that.
Did you make it out to the plantations?
They are only about an hour away.
They believe in personal responsibility to a point, however, a lot of folks in the 9th ward still want government handouts for life after Katrina flooded their ghetto in 2005. Still, ya gotta love the energy in the streets of the French Quarter.
I love the French Quarter, and everything about Louisiana…I have distant relatives in that graveyard and family in and about the New Orleans area! Love the food, the people, the differences that make it so beautiful in it’s own way! Have fun!
